The Seinäjoki Area Finland-America Society was established in 1946. The former name was Seinäjoki Finland-America Society. Since we have many members from surrounding towns, we changed the name to Seinäjoki Area Finland-America Society. At the present we have about 200 active members. Our board has 12 members. We meet bi-monthly. Our Society works as a bridge between people with a mutual interest between Finland and USA. In the past many south-ostrobothnians immigrated to the United States of America and therefore many of our members have relatives or other connections to USA. Some of our members have lived in or visited the States. Members also have business-connections to USA. It's not unusual that a member has been an exchange-student. They all have stories to tell about their US-adventures. We organice diffrent events like member-trips to local attractions, lectures, Christmas parties and other member get-to-gethers etc. Our annual membership-fee is 22€ (Euro). |
